First launched in 1979 the Safeway supermarket is part of the Tamimi group, which has brought the Western supermarket to the shores of Saudi Arabia. The traditional individual stores have been replaced by the large all-encompassing Western model and have thrived on their success, opening eleven new stores in Eastern Province and Riyadh in the last few years.
Products are always of the highest quality and this means that expats are able to find the products that are familiar to them at home. The hypermarket store in Riyadh is the size of a warehouse, which means that customers are always able to locate their favourite goods in this particular branch. They also have organic goods which are often difficult to locate in Saudi Arabia.
