歴史的な場所

古い地区ディーラ内に位置するアルマスマク城は、19世紀に建てられた砂漠城であり、現代サウジアラビアの建国者、アブド・アジズ・イブン・サウドによるリヤド征服の歴史的な戦いの舞台となりました。この城には、高さ18メートルの4つの見張り塔と、厚さ1.24メートルの壁があります。まさに堅固な要塞です。その名前が「マスマク（堅固な）」というだけの事はあります。

1865年にムハンマド・ビン・アブドゥッラー・ビン・ラシードの治世中に建設されたこの城は、1902年にアル・サウード氏族によって占拠され、この地域の支配を回復しました。80年代に修復され、1995年に博物館に転換され、軍事と文化の歴史や工芸品を展示する一連の歴史的な展示物があり、この城はサウジアラビア人の間で伝説的な名声を獲得しています。
