Description

Make the most of your layover in Riyadh with a guided tour of the city's highlights. Be picked up from the airport and taken to the National Museum of Saudi Arabia, the National Museum Park, and the Hall of King Abdulaziz. Visit the Murraba Palace, Dira Souq, Al Masmak, and the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque before being dropped off at the airport. Meet your guide at the airport and head to the National Museum of Saudi Arabia. Admire the museum's collection of antiques, manuscripts, and documents that are all chronologically organized. Learn about the history of the Saudi royal family, the kingdom's formation, and the political context of the country. Continue to the National Museum Park and walk through the outdoor gardens. Admire the Hall of King Abdulaziz, where there is a showroom of old cars that were used by the king. Then visit the Murraba Palace, built by King Abdulaziz to accommodate his family. Admire the palace's traditional Najid style and take photos of the beautiful building. Next, visit the Dira Souq, a traditional Saudi market famous for its variety of old copper and brass objects, including silver daggers, silver Bedouin jewelry, and dresses. Afterward, visit Al Masmak, a fortress that has been turned into a museum. Step back in time and explore Saudi Arabia’s roots. Fascinating exhibitions on display show maps and photographs of Saudi Arabia, alongside a range of historical artifacts, artworks, and audiovisual attractions. A short documentary also re-enacts the capture of the fortress by King Abdul Aziz, whose spearhead you can still see embedded in its wooden gate. Then visit the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque, an active place of worship in Riyadh. Seating 17,000 worshippers and measuring 16,800 m2, it is one of the largest mosques in Saudi Arabia. After finishing your tour, be transferred to Riyadh Airport at least 2 hours before your international flight time.
