Description
This guided tour of Madinah visits key Islamic historical sites suitable for spiritual and historical exploration.
Start at Uhud Mountain, named for its separation from surrounding peaks. At its foot occurred the Battle of Uhud, where seventy companions, including Hamza ibn Abdulmuttalib, were martyred.
Next, visit Masjid al-Qiblatayn, the mosque where the Qibla changed direction from Jerusalem to Makkah by divine command. Afterward, tour Quba Mosque, the oldest mosque in Islam, established during the Prophet Muhammad’s emigration from Makkah to Madinah. If time allows, join Zuhr prayer here.
The tour continues to the Seven Mosques, located on the western side of Mount Sela’. These mosques mark the Muslim defensive line during the Battle of the Trench in 627 CE and include:
- al-Fathah Mosque
- Salman Farsi Mosque
- Abu Bakr Mosque
- Umer ibn Khattab Mosque
- Ali ibn Abi Talib Mosque
- Fatima Mosque
Al-Fathah Mosque is built over the Qubba of the Prophet. The other mosques mark troop stations and monitoring locations during the battle. The tour ends with return transfer to your hotel.
